King Edward VII is the founding chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire in the United States, which dates from 1909. Among our members are women who work in various fields, stay-at-home mothers, empty-nesters, and retirees.
Our members are located in Manhattan, New Jersey, Long Island and Westchester so our monthly meetings take place on Zoom in the evening. We regularly plan social and fundraising events throughout our membership areas.
We annually host a Valentine’s Brunch in midtown Manhattan as our major fundraiser. In addition, we have other events to raise funds for our philanthropic endeavors and to celebrate our British and Commonwealth heritage.
